About Our Group
The Warrington Group is part of the wider North and Mid Cheshire Area, and we are therefore able to share an extensive programme of local walks with other groups in the area. These take place both during the week and at the weekend, and range from half day to full day walks for varying degrees of ability. Details of the full programme of walks can be found on the North and Mid Cheshire Website.
In addition, we offer fortnightly full day coach walks every other Sunday, which enable us to go further afield. A coach picks up at various points in Warrington. This means we can visit a wide range of places within good reach of Warrington, and enjoy a much broader menu of walks and destinations for varying levels of ability in some of the most beautiful places in the North West (including Wales).
Sunday Coach Walks
We run a Sunday coach every two weeks, picking up at various points in Warrington between Stockton Heath and Culcheth. We travel to many different places that offer beautiful scenery, excellent varied walking and great places of interest.
On each trip we offer 4 grades of walk, each led by an experienced leader. These range from easier, more leisurely walks of around 6 to 8 miles to more challenging walks up to 16 miles. There is always time at the end of the walks to find refreshments.
The walks are an excellent opportunity to get out and about at a very reasonable cost without having to drive there and back. They are ideal for both singles and couples of all ages, and are a great way to meet new friends and socialise while doing something you enjoy.
All you need to get started are walking boots, appropriate walking and wet weather gear, and a rucksack to carry a packed lunch and anything else you want to bring. (If you need advice we can help).
Our group is friendly and welcoming, and we would love to welcome new members. If you would like to try a Sunday trip, please read the details about cost, how to book on a trip and pick up points and times on the Warrington Coach Page.
Non-members are welcome to come along and try it out!
Our next coach is to Llandudno on 29 October

The enticing approach along the A55, with the Great Orme filling the view sets the scene for a day by the seaside or up in the hills. A series of walks surround the Orme for those keen to burn off some energy or at a lower level, Penrhyn Bay and parts of the Country Park will be enough. Fish and chips for some at the end of hard walk ? Otherwise along the prom for coffee, cake, ice cream or a stronger drink. We look forward to seeing you on 29th October.
